Perm

We use a cold perm technique here to ensure minimal damage as possible by letting it process naturally instead of placing you under a heat lamp. Heat may speed up the process, but results in dryer, frizzier hair. We hand pick the right solution to use according to the condition of your hair whether that be virgin hair, previously permed, or colored hair. You can have a regular color in your hair to do a perm, but you cannot have any bleached service done to it. The different size rods and strategic placement create different type of looks whether you want to be super tight curls like ramen noodles or loose waves.

Total time to get a men’s perm will be about 1.5 hour, with a haircut approximately 2 hours.

After getting a perm, do not shampoo or get your hair wet for 48 hours(2 days). That means no jumping in the lake, pool/foam parties, or working out if excessive sweating will come out of it. Try not to do much to your hair such as tying your hair back or wearing a hat to prevent making any indents. You can still shower, shower caps will be provided so you can still shower without getting your hair wet.  After the 48 hours (2 days) window, you are free to do whatever you want.

To style

Your hair will be easier to style since the perm softens up your hair texture for it not to be super stick straight stiff anymore.

For a more messy, minimal effort look: Apply a little mousse or hair cream while hair is still damp after getting out of the shower, shake your head a bit, and let it naturally air dry. It literally takes like 2 seconds and you’ll be able to run out of the house if you’re on a time crunch.

For a more polished, groomed look: Blow drying with a hairdryer will loosen up the curls on days that you want it not as wavy or curly. The hair will still be softer than your natural stick straight hair making it easier to manipulate to whatever style you desire. Use wax or any styling product you have to shape it into the design you want. Once you wash your hair, the curls will come back so the perm is very versatile to create different styles depending on your mood that day.

For best results, use a pH balance shampoo that’s meant for color and permed hair.

Most men get their hair re-perm about 3 times a year since hair is short and the ends get cut off before the perm actually fades away.
